K9’s for Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of service dogs for American veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. One of its own members is a veteran in Green Bay who just graduated from the program.
“I believe it grounds you quite a bit, and she definitely is trained for the nightmares, and she can sense my anxiety. Like when I start to get a little overwhelmed, she’ll get on my lap,” said Jordan Polzin, who now has a service dog named Kirby.
Polzin recently graduated from the veteran’s service dog program through K9s for Warriors. It’s a 21-day training session in Florida.
He says he now lives a simpler life that’s got him off some medication given to him by the Veteran’s Association.
